Kent off spinner James Tredwell has been called into the England squad for their One Day International against the West Indies on Friday.
The 30 year old will join up with his England team-mates for the game at Headingley after Kent’s Twenty 20 game against Essex at Chelmsford on Wednesday evening.
Tredwell has been called into the squad as England selectors announced that Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann will be rested for the final ODI in the three match series. Stuart Meaker (Surrey) and Chris Woakes (Warwickshire) will join Tredwell in the squad.
National selector, Geoff Miller, said: “The fact that we have already won the NatWest series means we are able to take the opportunity to rest three players ahead of next week’s series against Australia and take a closer look at players who are likely to feature in our limited overs planning going forward.”
Tredwell has so far played five One Day Internationals for England, taking four wickets in the process.
